Hello all,

I have a couple problems on my boat but got them fix and now one more problem hopefully someone can help me out. Here is the problem: I can push the throttle one or two time and start the engine fine but when I insert the fuel pump relay in then gas start dripping into the carburetor then kill the engine. When I don’t insert the relay the engine will run until gas is out then die. Also my alternator is very hot.

Need to rebuild the carb
The float needle seat and valve is leaking and unable to seal off when the bowl gets full

You can remove the float bowl and just replace the needle valve and seat. Then check/adjust the float level. If the float has not increased its weight then this will stop the flooding

Hello alldodge, is it hard to remove the float bowl and replace the needle valve and seat? Do you by any chance have a part for the needle valve?

thank

The Holley bowl comes off easy with 4 screws in the front.
Carb adjustments is on page 7-51 and listed float level is parallel with bowl when inverted

The manual is in link below

http://boatinfo.no/lib/volvo/manuals/wt_elect.html#/126

Not sure if its right but appears the valve is 856193 and have found only one on ebay and its old stock. Look on the carb for numbers. If its a 2300 then search for carb parts.
