I have a 2006 glastron Sx175 with the volvo penta 3.0 Gl motor, I had the boat out on the lake, fairly roof water that day boat ran fine all day long. After shutting the motor off on the water and sitting for awhile I tried to crank the engine, nothing happened. After checking the gear shift to make sure it was in nuetral I began checking to see if any wires had come un plugged. I was able to jump the starter out on the lake with a screwdriver to get the motor running so I know my problem is before the starter somewhere. Maybe a neutral safety switch? fuse I might have missed? I have no clue.

Re: Volvo Penta 3.0l Gl starter problems

check out don s post in stickys about troubleshooting the starting system.... i had a similar problem and it was a bad slave solenoid. get yourself a jumper wire (heavy gauge) and a volt meter and print up that post. it will save you alot of time and aggravation! good luck
