I have a 1997 volvo big block with volvo duoprop outdrive.
The drive will raise on its own, sitting at the dock and sometimes under way the drive will just begin to raise on its own. The trim switch will become inoperative you will not be ablew to raise the drive or lower it anymore. Also there are lights in the engine compartment that blink usually this is for the trim, normally when things are operating correctly they blink. When the drive raises on its own all the lights are out???
Normally the drive will operate fine for a day trip[, it appears that when you are out for several days and the batteries are left on to power the 12 volt stuff on the boat it begins to act up. About two weeks ago had the same proble after a few days out, once we returned left the batteries off for a few days and when I returned to the boat everything was fine. Now I went out again for a week and the problem is back.
Any help on what to look for?
