I'm not a boater, so give me a chance the boat is a Four Winn 1996 with a Volvo SX out drive, and on the side of it it has a cobra sticker? is that for OMC cobra or is are these two company's under one flag?
As bruce58 states, in 96, OMC and Volvo was in a joint venture, however, it's now all Volvo Penta as OMC (Sterndrives) went out of buisness about 10 years ago.
Strange thing about this drive....if you order the OMC part # instead of the Volvo #, its cheaper...Hmmm...
It's actually become sort of a running joke between myself and the parts dude.
That probably is becuase of the parts distribution network and how they set prices on individula items. I used have a Chevrolet Prizm which was identical to a Toyota Corolla. Parts were generally cheaper at Toyota but certain ones weren't.
