Volvo MD5 question

I'm not getting any response from any of the 6 forums on the web I've asked this question on including this one. Come on sailors! I've cracked the casing on the reduction/reverse gear casing directly behind the motor. It has the dipstick, and oil fill cap on it. Anyone know if a MD7 unit will mate up with my MD5 and work?<br />Thanks!<br />Rick

Rick,<br />I've owned several Volvos in sailboats...MD1s & MD2s but no 5s or 7s. Find the Westerly owner mailing list and ask them. Lots of experience and tech info from those guys...the best I've seen on Volvos anywhere. Sorry, I don't subscribe to it anymore and don't have the addy now. I guess you already know that Volvo parts are big time expensive compared to Yanmar.
