i have a 250a/sp

thinking of doing an engine swap as i have bad rings.

can some tell me what liter my engine is (2.4 2.4 ect)???

and if this is my best option?

Its a 2.5 liter.

Go to this link and type in 250a where it asks for engine type. There is a lot of info an that site.

I believe your looking for an aq131/230, an aq151/250, or an aq171/251. These motors share many parts and I believe can be interchanged fairly easily.
