Re: volvo inboard transmission shift problem

Does this have a Borg-Warner V-Drive unit, rather than an inboard/outboard drive? If so, I think you're looking at a problem with the hydraulics. I'm afraid that's not my area of expertise. I hope someone here will be able to help.

The BB225B uses either the MS3(B,C,D) or the MS4A transmission. Which one do you have. No such thing as a VS transmission by Volvo.

Re: volvo inboard transmission shift problem

Is the oil level ok? Any water in the gear lube? If not either of these, it's probably a slipping cone clutch in the transmission causing the problem.
Only fix is to remove the tranny, dissassemble and inspect and fix as necessary.
