I am thinking of buying a used boat and it has a 5.0L Volvo Penta GXi/SX engine. I was just wondering if anyone has comments on whether this is a dependable engine or not? It has 120 hours on it.

My brother in law has that setup on his Chaparral 210 SSI. No problems, and his is an '05, bought new. Heavy boat for a bowrider.....plenty of power and no mechanical problems I am aware of. Volvo makes a nice outdrive.
I have this in my 2006 Chaparral 204 SSi and it is an awesome motor and drive combo. Gets my fairly chubby boat out of the water really fast with a 17P prop on it.
