I have a 28 bayliner flybridge with a 350 chevy and a 280 volvo single prop drive. I just got a duo prop (dp-d1) 1.95:1 lower and would like to try it to get more power ( the boat is a pig) not sure if that ratio is good or what size props to use . I hope it will bolt up . Anyone know ?

Re: volvo duo prop install

You actually lucked out and found the proper gear ratio for a 350. If you are looking for prop numbers. a B-4 (aluminum) set would be a good starting point. What you are looking for is the proper WOT (Wide Open Throttle) rpm for your engine.

BTW, of course a 28 foot boat is a pig with a little engine. What did you expect?
To move big boats, you need big horse power and torque. The DP will help, but don't expect to be pulling a bunch of skiers or wake borders at 45 mph.
