Re: Volvo drive shaft bellows

Just a rule of thumb that I go by, I recommend to my customers to replace the bellows (ujoint bellows only) at 5 years. If they go bad, it takes out ujoints, gimbal bearings and possibly a drive if not found in time.
The exhaust bellows can stay till they go bad. If they go bad, it doesn't really hurt anything.

Re: Volvo drive shaft bellows

Thanks Don.
I bought the boat used last year. Dont know when it was last changed.
The boot looks ok and the exhaust boot looks a grade below ok.
When I get it done I will have a Mechanic do it. When the time comes I will
have both boots replaced, gimbal brg checked or should I just replace it.
Is there a Shift boot on this drive? Question is if I'm going to spend the money to have it taken apart what are all the service items I should do or replace.

Thanks
