I am almost done with everything on my boat, but here is one more problem poking it's ugly little head. I have the 270 outdrive and my drive lift doesn't want to respond to anything. Is there a way that I can "hotwire" the lift to make it come up or down to make sure my wiring isn't bad? It isn't responding at all right now.
-Gerry

Gerry:

Man... isn't boating stuff grand... I am not near your boat/pump but without looking I would assume that the trim switch just reverses polarity of motor... forward or reverse...

I always carry jumper wires in my tool box to test things... big aligator clips on one side & small on the other, red & black, so I know the diffrence...

Clip on battery & clip to connections on trim motor to raise & lower.... reversing connections on battery will cause the motor to reverse... again this is an assumption.

I tested fan motors in my Honda when replacing radiator to make sure they were working correctly!!!

Well, I was able to hotwire it but no difference, all I can tell is there is a slight clicking sound coming from it. Anyone got some clues?
-Gerry
