Just got a new boat with a full FWC 350 and Volvo DPS outdrive. The boat sat for two years but was started regularly and runs very well. The outdrive will need a shift cable adjustment because it shifts smoothly into forward, but you have to tap the throttle slowly back to get it to kick into reverse without jerking.
Before getting back on the water I plan on taking a look at the risers to make sure they're ok, changing the motor oil and outdrive gear oil, and replacing the raw water pump (can I replace just the impeller?). The bellows are pliable and appear to be in good shape.
Is there anything else I need to look at before putting the boat back on the water and enjoying it?
Also, the props spin smoothly under power with no strange noises, but you can't spin them freely by hand...that is, they turn but won't keep spinning when you stop pushing. Is that normal for a duo prop or something of concern?
