Volvo DP-S Trim Fluid Level

I own a 1998 Volvo 7.4L DuoProp DP-S.<br /><br />Drive #<br /> DP-S<br /> 3868165<br /> Ser# 4112037652<br /><br />Transom #<br /> TSX SX-0110A3<br /> 3868404<br /><br />Engine #<br /> 7.4L GL PLKD<br /> 3868625<br /> Ser# 4110150564<br /><br />Here is a picture of my trim pump. This pump does not match what is in my factory Volvo manual. What is the procedure for checking the trim fluid level?<br /><br />

What "Factory Volvo Manual" are you speeking of?

Thanks for answering my question. <br /><br />My manual number is Volvo # 7797455-8 which is for the "BY" model which apparently is for the next model newer than mine. <br /><br />I just found out tonight from reading your other post what model I really have. Did not know what the "LK" portion of the model number meant until I looked at your link.<br /><br />Are there maany differences between the "LK" and "BY" models? Obviously, one is the trim pump.

Yep, the LK models were the last ones to use the type pump shown in your picture. Then they went to the ones with the plastic reservoir with seperate up and down relays.

I am thinking now about selling this set of manuals and getting a set for "LK". Are there many other things that warrant buying the "LK" manuals?<br /><br />Anybody out there want to buy a set of "BY manuals?

Other than fuel, ignition, trim, wiring and a couple other small items, No, no reason they shouldn't work.

Thanks Don. I was expecting you to say something like that. <br /><br />I bought these 4 years ago from a local dealer when I bought my boat and gave him all the numbers I put in the post above. Too bad I didn't figure out he sold me the wrong ones then! <br /><br />He probably figured along with me that it was a 1998 boat that it should have the BY manuals.
