Can anyone tell me the correct part number for the prop wrench I need for the inner prop on a 2004 Volvo DP drive? I'm seeing conflicting numbers depending on where I look in the net.

Thanks!
Craig

There's a wrench for that? Huh, and all these years I've been removing those without it.

That would depend on which Volvo DP drive you have. What model?

Volvo PN 3855876. The nut for the outer prop is a 1-3/16" socket

Re: Volvo DP prop wrench

Thanks Don! While I'm asking you questions, I was looking to get the factory service manuals for this, and was kinda confused. Its a 5.0GXI/DP-S. All I can seem to find are workshop manuals for AQxxxx, MDxxx, etc. Any suggestion for an online source for mine? All the dealer wants to sell me is a Clymer manual.

Thanks!
Craig

Get me your engine serial number and I will get you the engine and drive manual numbers. Even which model 5.0GXi would help.

Re: Volvo DP prop wrench

I have a 30mm deep socket I bought from Harbor Freight, or Tool King, don't really remember. Cost something like 5 bucks. It was a 1/2" drive, so I cut the drive area out and drilled holes for a 1/4" bar and welded that in on either side, leaving the center clear of course. Then I had to grind down the outside of the socket so it would fit down in there. I have lots of tools like these I've made or modified over the years. I suppose for the time it took to make it perhaps buying one from Volvo would have been better, but I don't know what they cost.
