Volvo Diesel

I have a 2 cylinder volvo diesel that will not fire. Tried virtually everything, check fuel pump, injectors, etc. But it seems that there is a large volume fuel delivered to the cylinder since I am finding diesel fuel in the crankcase, but there seems to be plenty of compression. glow plugs? Had a volvo diesel for years and the only time it wouldn't start was a failed glow plug selenoid.

Thanks for the suggestion on the glow plugs, it was my first thought, but my friend who has this motor says there aren't any glow plugs. It's a small moter for a sailboat. As i get more details from him I'll post it - just thought maybe someone had similar experience.<br /><br /><br />------------------<br />trophyman
