Hi guys,
If I replaced a Volvo AQ130-270 with a new 3.0GL-J-SX I may have problems with the transom.
I noticed that the transom kit on the SX is a 8 stud pattern and the old 270 is a 6 bolt pattern.
I also noticed that the the SX may be 2" longer and wider.
Has anyone removed a 270 leg and replaced it with a SX unit; if so did you have to redo the transom (fill in the old cut out) or because the SX is 2" longer and wider perhaps you may been lucky enough to have been able to use the existing cutout by making it wider and drilling eight new holes. If this be the case I was also wondering if by using the old cutout that the leg ended up sitting at the correct height in relation to the bottom of the hull.
Thanks in advance.
