Volvo Alternator swap

83' Volvo Penta 4cyl. Can I take a alternator off a V-8 and use it for the 4cyl application? Thanks Dan

Its hard to believe it would bolt up without some modification. I would try to get the existing one rebuild.

However could it be done? I suppose. Needs to be marine grade of course.
