I need to replace the alternator belt on my 1995 VP 5.0FL. I have the old belt but can't read the numbers off of it. I am assuming I will need to purchase a marine specific belt but wanted to double check. Does anybody have a part number for this belt? I have looked in the manual and searched online with no luck.

Re: Volvo alternator Belt

Thanks Don. I received the part today. Now I have to put it on. My friend has done this on an old Mustang GT and he says it looks exactly the same. The alternator looks like it will unbolt and rotate to allow the belt to go on and then rotate back to adjust for tightness. It appears to be an easy job. Is there anything else I need to know?
