Hope someone has some advice, I am pulling what little hair I have out.

I have a 1999 Chris Craft with a 5.7 GSi. Now and then when I turn the key to start the boat the engine will not turn over. No click, nothing at all.

The fuel pump comes on and builds pressure and stops as it should but then nothing.

You can walk away from the boat and come back later after a day or whatever and all works just fine. No work done to the boat, just decides it wants to start.

Perfect example, Tuesday night I got in the boat and un winterized it. Went to the ignition and nothing. Was tired so climbed out of the boat. Got home Wednesday night, got my test light out, got in the boat and before I started turned the key. Worked great. Started it at least 10 times and no problem.

I know as soon as I take it to the lake, or my wife does, it will not start again.

Any advice?

Thanks,

James

Start checking electrical connections, by disassembling and cleaning, not just "looking".
From the battery cables (both ends of both cables) to the ignition switch.
