Volvo 5.0FI w/ SX outdrive manual question

Just purchased 1995 Caravelle with a 5.0 FI w/ SX outdrive.

Not sure what has been done to the motor as far as maintenance.

I have read to pull drive, and check bellows, etc. In looking at the outdrive, looks like the shift cable needs to be replaced as well.

Question is what manual, SELOC, Clymer, etc. is the best. Local boat parts house has them all. Any opinions good or bad would be appreciated.

I'm sure others are going to jump in with the same information, but you really want the VOLVO manual, which may in fact be downloadable. Volvo experts will reply.

Yea, you want to factory manual for sure. They are not that expensive and WAY better then aftermarket ones.

i just got a manual off of ebay for ?2 ($4)ok its in cd format but it is better than any manual i have seen 529 pages and the details are fantastic but be careful with ebay there are a lot that are useless but going back to seloc v clymer, seloc has things that clymer dont and vice versa and imho i think seloc`s explanations are better

Years ago, I called Volvo at 757 436-2800 and asked for tech support. I provided them with the engine/outdrive model and serial numbers. They provided me with the part number for the factory manual set, which I ordered through my local dealer.

One thing you want to do before ordering the manual "Set" from the link bruce58 posted, is to check the model number and find out if you have a MD or HU model. Don't assume because you boat is a 95 that the engine package is also. More often than not if the boat is early 95, the engine package is 94. So just check the model number to be sure.
