Volvo 4.3 not starting Help!!!!

Hi Have a 4.3GI and the injectors wont open

Engine runs or tries to run if i pour fuel into the throttle body, but no fuel comes from the injectors,

Fuel pump works ok,
Have removed throttle body and found no restrictions
How do I check injectors, could the injection be held off by the ECM having fault codes that need removing

Ive gone as far as I can without diagnostic tools

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Have ya checked the fuel Filter, for crud 'n water,..??

Yes, the ecm fires off the injector, electrically...

Hi thanks for your reply,
Yes first thing I did was to change that filter, then gave fuel system a fresh fuel supply so no guessing about fuel or contamination,
Fuel pump does the normal thing runs for 2 secs when I turn on the ignition key.
engine cranks well but nothing comes from the injectors at all!! not even a drip??
as I said at the first sign of fuel the engine tries to start??

What will stop the injectors from opening? how can I tell if they are being told to open??

Was there a lot of water in the old filter?

What's the full model number of your engine? There should be letter/s after the 4.3Gi

Hi, not sure on that number till I get back to the marina but it has a SX leg and is circa 2000 vintage,
changed the filter as the fuel smelt off

Ayuh,... So ya Didn't inspect it's contents,..??

Rotten gas is Rotten,...
If the tank still has the same gas in it, yer headed for more problems...

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Just because you hear the pump run does not mean you have fuel pressure.

Yes understood, but am not using boat tank fuel right now, have fed the pump from a different source since the filter change, would have thought I would have got something from the injectors maybe a drip or 2
surely a little lower pressure wont stop the engine from starting
Unless..... the system wont let the injectors open till a certain pressure is reached???
remember there is no fuel at all coming from the injectors good or bad!!
