Hi all,
I have a 2006 ebbtide with volvo penta 350gi and a duo prop outdrive. Last year I didn't treat the fuel properly and had the fuel pump/cell go bad, so I replaced it about 1 year ago. Last fall I followed all the winterizing instructions on this site and the service manual. I fogged the motor, but I drained all the fuel from the tank so it would not go bad. I went and filled the tank with non ethanol fuel. Then I went to start the motor and when I turn the key on the fuel pump does not turn on for 2 second like it use to. Any suggestions? I put a volt/ohm meter on the plug of both the low pressure and high presser plugs, but there is no voltage there. I check the fuse and swapped the relay. I hope this is not another $$ fuel cell.

Thanks.

You don't have to drain tanks of fuel just because you store it over the winter. That had nothing to do with your fuel cell failing. Dirt, water, and air is what kills fuel cells.
Check connections at the fuel pumps and the fuel pump relays to make sure they are not corroded. It may be a faulty relay as well.

I swapped out the relay/ checked the fuse. Should there be 12 volts at either plug when the key is turned on?
thanks

What is the full model number or serial number of your engine?

You can verify the pumps to see if they run by jumping across the 2 parallel relay socket connectors with a jumper wire.

Other than that, you are going to have to get it hooked up to a diagnostic computer to find the problem. The relays are controlled by the ECM.

Don
Thanks for all the help. I jumped the relay and the pump came on. So I call to schedule an appointment with the dealer. He then asked if it beeped when the key was turned on. No  The lanyard was not connected to the kill switch. Boy what a dummy I am  Always check the obvious first !! Thanks again for your time.
