I was wandering if any one else has the same problems.
Our mechanic has just fitted exhaust riser extentions to try and stop water being drawn up through the exhaust. The problem is that the motor has had to taken out and rebuilt 3 times in the last year because of water in the cylinders.
I have a REGAL 258 commodore with 2 135hp motors and it is only the starboard motor that is giving us problems. I have heard all sorts of excuses as to why this is happening. Just this week the motor was put back after grinding the crank and new bearings, rings, valves etc(another rebuild). While running the motor before being put back in the water they heard another knock and now I am told the motor has to come out again as the cam shaft or cam followers are faulty. Any ideas?
Roger.
