Volvo 3.0L fuel overflow line question

I was just informed what this yellow line is. Now my question is whether the residue on it is cause enough for concern to replace it? It appears to be the only component that seems to have any residue on it that appears to be fuel. But it's just the slightest film that collects grime as seen in the photo below.

Is this slight wetness a concern enough to go ahead and replace it? When you open the engine compartment, is smells a little of fuel, but definitely not overwhelmingly so. Should there be absolutely no scent of fuel at all? So far this is the only source of residual fuel I could find.

The carb is open to the air, so yea, you might be able to smell a little gas smell, just because it's in the carb. That is why you run the blower before starting the engine.
I wouldn't worry about a residue, gasoline will come out of the hose if the fuel pump has a ruptured diaphram.
