Volvo 290 outdrive trim will not drive down

Hi Guys:
I have a 290 outdrive that will not trim down hydraulically from the full up position when it is in hard contact with the rubber upstop. The motor runs in either direction but the outdrive will not move down unless I bleed a small amount of fluid from the hyd upline and let the outdrive drop manually less than a 1/4". I retighten the hose, then the outdrive will work normally until the next time it is raised to the full up position. Any suggestions? A new pump assy?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... Simple,... Don't run it up Hard against the stop....

When it gets to the Top, tap the down button a couple of times, to relieve the Over-pressure against the valving...

Thanks for the reply, That is what I attempt to do now, bad thing being with wind blowing and senior citizen hearing it is at times difficult to hear the trim motor running and starting to load up. My 290 outdrive does not have a trim indicator.
