Fairly new to boats. I recently bought a 21 foot Donzi hornet. I had the boat looked over before first run and was told everything was fine. On the first run with the boat my u-joints let go and completely tore off the u joint bellows. After getting the boat out of the water I also noticed that when my u-joint let go it also broke off the flange the the far end of the u-joint bellows attaches to (not sure what this is called, not the drive end of the bellows but the other end). I can't afford to take the boat to a mechanic so I have no choice but to either attempt to fix it myself or sell it for parts and try to get some of my money back out of it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Trevor

Remove the engine and the flywheel cover housing as an assembly, then replace the flywheel cover housing.

So the part I was talking about is a flywheel cover housing? How much work is required to change that once the motor is pulled? And thank you for the quick reply.

Get it apart first, then order the parts you need. Don't forget the ujoint yoke assembly and the upper gear housing work it's going to need. You must have water in the gear lube.
