volvo 230 b solex carb settings..HELP

I have a volvo service manual and tore down my carbs (single brrl solex) and the service manual did not have things like float settings. can anyone help me out with this...I rebuilt the carb and eliminated all the problems form the rust in my fuel lines and am now running clean but when I accelerate it wants to cut out and back fire threw the carb. the boat is a 1988 trophy with a 230B in it.

Have you adjusted the idle mixture after the initial settings, did you use the proper setting for the differences between the early and late style carb bases?
Did you get the throttle plates syncronized so the open at exactly the same time?
Did you get the D shaped blocking plates in the proper way with new gaskets?
Are the accelerator pumps working and adjusted to spec?
Is the ignition timing correct........ Don't guess.

The carb settings are not on....I do know that. the timing is on and the mixture screw has been adjusted. I do not have any specs on the settings for the carb.....I was hoping the volvo manual I got would have it in there. I will check the D plate but I am sure it is good and I did use the info I did find on the proper model (late or early). is there a pdf or a link anyone can post to help me with the rest. It does idle beautifuly.

ok i have changed the thrott;e pump diaphram adjusted the fuel mixture and it has improved but still back fires a bit......as always with this boat I have developed another problem....I changed all the copper pipes to the sea water pump and because thet are just pressed in with a rubber gasket they keep leaking after a while of running.....go figure.....My main concern is this carb issue I have been steady looking for carb settings on the net and hear on this forumn and have not found anything yet...checked throttle plate (good)
timming (good) mixture setting (very close) float (??????) throttle pump (????)
am I missing anything
