Volvo 125AQ Wont start

This is a 1984 Bayliner capri with a Volvo 125 AQ with a 270 outdrive.<br /><br />She will not start.<br /><br />Has spark. Verified that by turning her over with a plug out still connected to the wire.<br /><br />Getting fuel but not to the cylinders.<br /><br />I can look down the throat of the carb and see all kinds of fuel. I have even poured some fuel down the throat.<br />Turn her over for about 30 seconds. pull the plugs and they are as dry as a popcorn fart.<br /><br />I thought pouring fuel down the throat gave a straight shot to the intake manifold.<br /><br />Any thoughts here??

I would replace the spark plugs,It doesnt take much to fuel foul them.I will show spark but it will to weak to fire it up,Good Luck

Plugs are brand new this season and are still white.<br /><br />Anyway,<br />I spent over 3 hours trying to get her to start then came and put that first post in.<br /><br />Went back out to try again, hit the key, and she started.<br /><br />She is outside now running on the hose purring like a kitten.<br /><br />Weird??<br /><br />Any reason for this??<br /><br />I would hate for this to happen on the lake.

IS YOUR TIMING BELT STILL ON AND IS IT IN GOOD SHAPE <br />LOOK AT THE TEATH ON IT IS PART OF THE TEATH WORN OF IF IT IS YOU NEED NEW TIMING GEARS OR DO WHAT I DID PAINSTAKINLY SAND EACH TOOTH TILL SMOTH BUT DONT WEAR THEM TO FARE USE GOOD JUDMENT ON THAT<br />NEXT AND MOST IMPORTENT CHEAK COMPRESION<br />NO COMPRESION NO FIRE<br />BRING NOMBER ONE PISTON TO TOP DEAD CENTER THATS THE END OF COMPRESION STROK<br />SEE IF THE ROTOR INSIDE THE DISTRIBUTOR IS POINTING TO THE NOMBER ONE WIRE ELECTRODE<br />IF IT ISENT CHEACK YOUR TIMING BEALT IT SHOLD BE ALINED WHITH BOTOM GEAR ON TIMING MARKS REFER TO YOUR REPAIR MANUAL
