I wrote in recently about a heating up problem on plain. Don suggested I check the waterneck on the outdrive, due to the fact they may erode over time. Nice call Don ! I took the S-hose off and the neck lip was completely eroded away. I can't belive the hose stayed on. I have the replacement parts. My question is do I use any permatex or other sealer for the rubber neck gasket?<br /><br />P.S. Don, Great call Pal

Char259<br /><br />I have the same motor/outdrive. I think if you tourqe it properly you should be alright. I went to Lowes and purchaced 1" clear tube and replaced the sewater intake from transom to the water intake pipe. This way, I can see how much water my motor is pumping. At idle, the pipe has about 1/3 water moving through it. At 4000 RPM, its about full so I know I have no leaks. Hope that helps a little!

Not sure you understand what he said BS.<br />The end of the fitting on his drive corroeded off. He replaced it. There is no fixing something like that with parts from Lowes.
