Volve Penta Outdrive in 95 Monterey - how bad is this picture

Hey guys, trying to figure out if this is a worth a trip (10 hours each way for me) to go see this boat.

Everything else looks fine, and I plan on inspecting as thoroughly as I can. But I need to figure out if it's even worth it before I spend the money on the trip then on a marine survey.

What is the grey/whitish wear just below the riser piston? Is that normal corrosion?
