I have a 2008 mercury 25 hp. 4 stroke efi. My fuel regulator vacum hose is connected to regulator, other end of hose is just laying on bottom of cowl. I looked everwhere there is nowhere it could have come off from. Is it suppose to be not connected to anything?

Hi. Might have replied to this earlier. Not sure you got it or not. Is it not the vent system arrangement that some of them have back then ? They have a hose going off them. Open ended through the bottom of the cowl or most commonly Perhaps to a fitting piece out the bottom of the cowl.

I don't know for sure but that's what I am starting to think. I am just not sure a regulator can work without vacum . That's why I posted hoping g so wone would know for sure. There is a hole the size of the hose thru the bottom of the cowl.

What is the engine serial number?

Some fuel pressure regulators are plumbed to the intake manifold and some are simply vented to the atmosphere. Perhaps vented through the hose.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if some were to the atmosphere. That's what this one is I'm pretty sure now.
