Need help trouble shooting a voltage issue. I'd noticed the voltage running up a bit high on FT earlier in the season and a few weeks back the Tach went crazy. Research pointed to a bad voltage regulator, which I've replaced. Tach is operating fine now but voltage will cycle 20-30 seconds at 13v+ then jump to 17v for 20-30 seconds. Only seems to happen in the upper end of the rpm range 5000-5200 - if I back off throttle a bit voltage will return to normal. Battery is new so I know terminal connections are clean, but I'm going to look at the ground. Everything I've seen so far points to older units with no regulator running at higher voltages or stators that aren't providing charge - not much on over charge. I'm going to have to put it in water with some test leads to get it up into the rpm range to test voltage at the battery so I'm just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue and what they found as the fix. Any direction is appreciated
