Virginia title/registration wait time

Recently sent off my tile and registration through the dmv, a little over a week ago, and I’m wondering how long it normally takes to get the new title and registration from the vdgif. Can anyone shed some light on this?

If it’s anything like MD it’s 3-4 weeks. I always go in person to get it over and done

Thanks, guess I should know better than to expect government agencies to operate efficiently. Would’ve much rather done it in person but from what I understand that requires a trip to Richmond, 2 hours one way on a good day for me.

My registration was two weeks. Title was five months. Had to check for fraudulent activity. NC

Funny you mention that, I am in the same boat (no pun intended). I moved from NY to VA and sent off my title, application, and payment about a month ago, and I've had no response. I called this morning and they said they are backed up in their mail department, getting thing scanned into the system is behind and I should allow for 2 more weeks before I start panicking it was lost in the mail or something.

Can’t tell you how relieved I was to read that! It’s been exactly a month today and I was beginning to worry! Leave it to government agencies working together to figure out how to make something take as long as possible
