I'm about 15 mins from Lake Anna. Its a great lake, but on the weekends it get alittle wild, with to many poeople that don't know how to operate a boat on the water... IF you can go during the week, it much more peaceful.

Just moved to the area myself...I've found a few spots to launch at...There's Leesylvania (sp?) state park which has ramps, but you have to pay to get in the park and to use the ramp. I think thats about $15 total...If you are military or can get access to base, there is a free ramp on Quantico. I know a few of the marinas in the area have ramps, but they also charge, some up to $20. FT Belvoir has a marina/ramp. and it's $8 to launch....I'd love to hear what spots you have found in the area...

You are right. Most of the ramps are not free. I use the one at Quantico most of the time, but it's only open from dawn to dusk. There are a few in the Aquia area, but they charge $15-$20. Do you know where exactly is the one in Fort Belvoir? I know there is one but have never seen it. Welcome to the area.

Hey Cpt Rob, I forgot to ask you if you have been to the Fairview Beach are south of Quantico? Let me know if you have not, so I can tell you about it. It is a nice gathering area for boaters.

Here is the street address for the FT Belvoir Marina. 5465 Hudson Rd. If you are familiar with post, when you come in the gate by the new hospital you will take your first left after the circle, then go straight through the small hosing area until you hit another road. You will see the water/marina through the trees. Turn left and cross the bridge and the marina will be on your right before you exit the small gate. They have about the same hours as Quantico, but if you store/slip your boat there you can get 24 hr access.

I haven't been on the water up here yet, but I'm dying to get my boat out there. Just been checking some areas.
