i have a 1977 merc 115 i6 with what i believe to be the original remote that has the tachometer connection at the front. i am going to attept to make my own harness as the factory ones are obsolete and the prices people that are selling one are pretty much out of my range so i have the basic info on what connection are what color the wires are on the connector and where they go on the tach ( i hope as i am not the best electrician just able to do the basics ) my biggest problem is i do not know what the tach connection color designation is per each blade connection at the remote. it is a three blade connection with two vertical and one horizontal. i have had the control apart to resolder the ignition wires and had a guy replace some washers and parts to get it to shift properly i really do not want to seperate it again as every time i do it seems to need another repair. so if someone knows which blade is what color or knows a website that shows it i would appreciate it. i have looked at quite a few websites and that is why i am familiar with what the color code is but just to be specific i am trying to find out which blade slot is what color on the remote connection in order to make my own plug in harness for a tach on a 1977 merc 115 i6 outboard motor. thank you for any and all help. p.s. my remote has the enrichment button on the top, ignition key at the rear and it does not have the trim button on the remote and obviously the gear selection lever on top
