A fixer upper boat I am restoring came equipped with a Motor Guide trolling motor. I've rewired it and it works. But, the rope, to the mechanism that releases the base so that the motor can be raised out of the water, has been broken off.
Any suggestions as to how I can access the release pin so that the Motor Guide can be raised. I tried to remove the
entire base from the boat hull thinking that might allow me to access the release pin but the fastening studs just turn and do not release. Anyone else faced this problem? If so, how did you solve it? Your help will be appreciated.
