Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I have a 1965 Glaspar wayne 100, 96 were made using a Corvair engine standing on end with a movable outdrive thru the bottom of the hull. I bought the outdrive as a basket case, needless to say, there is no documentation. It is very basic, I think is what is called a crash box. I have no experience, or knowledge of vintage outboard lower units. Looking for old time mechanic in So Cal, that can look at what I have, without exploded drawings and instructions.
Thanks

Lots of pictures on line.------The gearbox is similar to many big outboards.-----Easy to work on in my opinion.------Finding parts or shop to work on it might be a challenge.

Very few Honda , Yamaha units around in 1965 I say.-----I say it is a lot of help telling the owner that it is not exotic machinery.----Similar to outboards with sliding clutch dog , gears and bearings.-----I think this unit ( Eaton ??? ) is custom made..-------Does not look like anything from current popular model outboards.----Should be easy to work on , but that is my opinion !!

welcome aboard

if you have to hire out the work, you must have many tens of thousands of $ of disposable income

there is a restoration thread on fiberglassics with some limited information https://www.fiberglassics.com/forum/member-projects/132612-1965-wayne-100-restoration.html

withou your pictures, my guess the boat alone will cost you a few thousand to get the hull up to snuff if you do the work yourself. then, to top it off, finding parts for 1 of 96 custom drives. you are in the making custom parts to repair it category.

Projects like this are a labor of love type of thing and usually not a hire it out type of thing

Back in the day you could find a shop to make you a custom lot of 100 gearboxes.-----Today these small firms have all but disappeared.-----So buckle down and learn how to inspect assemble this thing yourself.------But wait, ----Don't spend any beer tokes till you have done a complete evaluation of this boat , Corvair engine and drive unit.

Thanks for the input. I think it is complete, have all new bearings and Orings. Not sure if I need to make a couple gaskets. Would like someone with experience and a hydraulic press, not sure about shimming to get correct gear engagement. Thanks
