vin # on Ez Loader trailers

I just bought a 1978 Ez Loader and had to get the vin # from the plate on the tongue. As others have found out the numbers are unreadable.
I used a Sharpie felt pen to ink over the area of the numbers, then rubbed with a damp cloth. (a licked finger works too) The numbers showed up clear and readable.

Good idea. Adding that one to the tips and tricks bag, especially as my eyes get worse with age.

Sometimes a pencil rubbing works as well.

Awesome! I'll have to try this on my trailer. Bought it earlier this summer and still don't know the VIN.
