VIN Number locations

Does anyone know where the VIN number is located on the older Dorsetts? I recently purchased an older Dorsett Cabin Cruiser and according to pictures on line the year model on the registration must be wrong because the windows are shaped differently and it is a left hand drive. I am just beginning the "restoration" process and it looks like I am going to need a few interior items so any suggestions there would be most helpful and appreciated. The head has been updated but thats about it.

I dont know Dorsetts, but VIN numbers are upper starboard (right) hand corner of transom, on the glass boats I have had.

Welcome aboard, dorsett. Boats after about 1972 have then right where etracer said. Prior to that there wasn't a HIN, only the boat makers ID system and there is no common location for the makers ID plate.

Re: VIN Number locations

Thanks for the information. This one best I can figure is early 50's, registration shows 62 but the photos don't match so I am clueless. Anyone have some photos of 50's and 60's Dorsetts?
