Hi all,

I bought a Bayliner + trailer from over sea.

I tried to register the trailer in Australia, but there is no VIN number for registration.

Any one know how do I contact Escort trailer and get them certified the trailer and punch the VIN number?

Thanks.

If it was built in the US it had one before it left the factory.

It may have been on a sticker.

Welcome to iboats!

I think Escort is out of business. They did indeed use stickers; the one on mine is completely illegible. Rumor has it that they put a second sticker inside one of the frame members at the back of the trailer, but I can't verify that. Any possibility of contacting the previous owner? Maybe they have the info.

You're not going to have much luck in this endevour. Change anything and register it as home made.

Re: VIN number for Escort trailer for Bayliner 1702 LS

Hi all,

Thanks for your advise. Does any one know how I can get the below details?

? Please provide evidence of the Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM - also called the GVWR in the USA) of the trailer. This evidence can be in the form of a copy of the Certificate of Origin, a clear photograph of the specification plate affixed to the trailer, or documentation from the manufacturer of the trailer. A specification printout from the manufacturer's website is permissible. Also please note that the Certificate of Origin is different to a Certificate of Title

Unfortunately the affixed plate does not have any details on it.

Thanks.

Try contacting the Bayliner Factory.
They may have the specifications for the trailer the boat was shipped with. :D

I had the same problem when I purchased one in the state of Ohio and brought it over to Pennsylvania Escort trailers was bought by Brunswick Corp if you call them they can give you a name of a person that can get you a new sticker for the trailer. You will need to prove ownership and the will want some pictures of the trailer. I believe the person you want to talk to is Dave Crosby and his phone number is 360-403-1266

Hey there...Im also in a similar situation here in Sydney, Australia after having just bought in a boat and trailer. The VIN is totally illegible on the Escort trailers sticker. Was wondering how you got on?
