Re: Viking 6 hp outboard motor

Eaton's made Vikings, so these are Canadian only engines. Naturally, ol' Tim wasn't hammering them together out back, so these are rebadged Chryslers at that point. Model 64801 is a 1968 6hp two cylinder engine. A manual that covers similair year Chryslers will be good for yours too. Someone sent me this from an old Viking owner's manual:

Horsepower 6 Brake HP at 4500 RPM
Engine two cycle two cylinder, alternate firing
Bore and stroke 2” x 1 11/16”
Displacement 10.6 Cu. In.
Carburetor Float feed
Connecting rod Forged Nickel Steel – Uncased needle bearings at crankshaft. Cased needle bearings at piston pin
Crankshaft Forged Nickel Steel. Cased upper Main bearing. Bronze lower main, centre main and thrust bearings
Propeller Aluminum alloy – 7 ½ Dia. X 7 ½ pitch, Right hand rotation
Cooling Water cooled – positive displacement type water pump
Transom height 15”
Weight 55 Lbs.
Fuel mixture 24:1 1/3 pint SAE outboard engine oil to 1 gallon of regular gas – 85 octane
Avoid ‘Premium’ gasolines with 95 octane and antiknock additives
Recommended Operating range – 4000 – 5000 RPM

Try Chyslercrew.com for reprints of the factory service manual. I'm not much on Chryslers so hopefully others can recommend good sources.
