Vessel View Link "Helm Must Be Active"

2019 Mercury 150hp 4 stroke connected to Lowrance HDS Live via Vessel View Link (VVL):

When I first installed the VVL the troll control feature worked great. Somewhere along the line I must have clicked a setting that disabled this feature. When I try to select Troll Control, I get the message "Helm Must Be Active" and the "Enable" button is grayed out??

UPDATE: According to a post over on The Hull Truth, the recent updates to the VVL and to the HDS killed the Troll Control feature. Mercury knows about it and they are working on a fix.
