First off not to sound like an A**, but you need spellcheck or type slower because it was hard to understand exactly what you were trying to ask.. Secondly they may be worth something to a bar or eatery as a wall decoration, but I doubt anyone wants them to ski on them. I have a couple of older skis like that in my Man-cave, but thats all they're good for basically.

Yep, there's not much of a market for antique skis. As for the decorative aspect of skis I've seen a couple of mailboxes using old fiberglass skis as post and old wakeboards turned into benches.
And no my wife will not let me decorate the house.....dammit. :D

If they were worth something everyone of us old geezers would drag a couple of pair of those old Cypress Garden skis down from our garage rafters and sell them. The main reason we keep them is that glimmering hope that someday we will get back in shape and use them again. I did use my **** Pope slalom ski a few years ago and realized that 34 years gone by and 30 some pounds added to the frame made it seem like a barrel stave beneath me:mad:

Nice as wall decoration, but there are so many old skiis around that you can get nice looking ones for $20 or so a pair at a yard sale.

Yup, while I ride on the old Cypress Gardens woodie a time or two each summer, it doesn't hold any antique value. I t would make a great decor for a wooded lake cabin though!

I find one of those floating in the lake a year. I almost have enough to make a bench or an Adirondack chair -- if I was skilled with wood working, which I ain't. :D

Someone might think they are worth something but I doubt it. Some sports equipment just gets old and never holds any value. Use them in your fireplace.

Has anyone heard of a wood set of water skis called Rodeo's? They have a metal fin on the bottom and have the option to slalom if you kick one off? They were my dads old skis. We tried them out and the work great.

Used my old wooden set to make a 2 person toboggan. Just removed the fins, added a couple of wooden seats and left the front part of the bindings as foot holds....worked great!

We made a sled out of two old skiis by screwing a piece of plywood on top.

Then again, there's not much sleding to do in austin texas...

Saw a show, I think on the DIY network, where some guy made a couple of Adirondack (sp?) chairs out of a pile of old skis. They were very cool.

Yeah the show was called Blog Cabin, we have several sets at our cbin on the wall. Occasionally we take them off an attempt to ski 4 or 5 wide but never use them for anything else.

njrextreme, I haven't heard of Rodeos, but could you specify? Right now it sounds like they're just an old pair of combos, I've also got some old wood combos with the metal fin, had another pair we used pretty regularly until the binding got ripped out because the skis were rotten on the inside, ha.

Re: very old water skis

I have some old waterski's and wakeboards that I want to hang up, and I'm not sure how to do it.
I want them to be vertical.
I don't want to put any holes in them, or screw through them.
I would prefer it to look as though they are floating on the wall, so no visible hooks, brackets, etc... If possible.

Anyone done this? Any ideas?

If the fins on the skis have holes in them like this one, then you can use an L-hook that just goes through the hole. For the other end of the ski the l hook does show but doesn't damage the ski. Other thing you could try would be some heavy duty velcro or command adhesive. Either one could be removed from the ski.

That's a good idea for the ski.
I think I figured out how to mount the wakeboards. I'll pull the fins off, and use a long bolt or screw through the hole, with the screw going through a sleeve to keep the board off the wall. Then screw it into a wall stud.
