Vertex vs OEM pistons

Hi All,

Any opinions wrt quality of Vertex pistons compared to OEM? While looking for .015 oversize ones for my OB I've come across this one:



Just curious.

It a very very good piston, have installed several hundred and never had a problem.

Cool - thank you. I assume it's fully interchangeable with the OEM one e.g. it'll accept OEM rings of the same size if required.

99% of all aftermarket pistons will accept OEM rings except Wiseco, which is the last piston you would want to use.

The seller has just replied confirming it comes as an assembly together with the rings and stuff, which is what I was expecting.

Interesting why such a difference in price then ($70 compared to $100ish for OEM ones).
