Vented VS non vented

I believe that my 9.8 Tohatsu runs better with the tank fill cap allowing venting?? Any comments?????

It should run well with the EPA cap on, as long as that cap is working. The fuel pump for the 9.8 is very robust.

what I meant can i leave the cap just on one click or less and run safely

One click should be fine. Just don't leave it so loose that it vibrates around and falls off...
