I've owned my boat 8 years and the boat ran well up until about 3 years ago. We had aprox 250 hours on the engine when I started having problems. The boat would always run great the frist time in the AM. We would run the engine hard for 1-2 hours pulling kids on tubes and then let the boat sit for 1-2 hours for lunch. On the second time out the engine would start up but after going to full throttle the engine would die and then we were DOA for about 30-40 minutes.
Sounds like classic vapor lock but wanted to see if anyone had similar issues with their Volvo Penta, 5.0 GL engine. This engine has a carburetor and is not fuel injected. I always use premium fuel 91 octane. Any suggestions besides running the blower for 1-2 hours? Thanks in advance!
