Does a 15 hp 1985 evinrude have valves and is it possible for one to stick open maybe from old gas<br /><br />------------------<br />D west

DW, nope. 2 strokes have what they call reed valves. These are thin blades of steel that flex with the crankcase pulses to feed the engine fuel and air. Their located in behind the carbs. If the reeds break or crack the engine won't idle right and you'll see her spitting fuel out of the carb throat at idle if you look across the face of it. What is she doing or not doing?? Dunk
