valve clearance sequence for volvo ad41p

hi all was wanting check the valve clearance on a ad 41 p I know that they have to be set at .040 mm (.016 thou cold ) but was wanting the valve seq WITH 2 TURNS I have a manual on order but will not be here until late January.

When you receive your OEM manual, you will find the info below on page 57.

Remove valve covers. When checking valve clearance
the engine should be turned in the direction of
rotation. Turning is carried out using the engines polygon
hub with a 24 mm socket and ratchet.

Turn the engine in the direction of rotation until Cylinder
1 piston is at Top Dead Center after the compression
stroke. At this the valves on cylinders nos 6
(6 cylinder) and 4 (4 cylinder) rock.

Applies to 41/42/43 series
Adjust the valve clearance for Cylinder 1. Turn the
engine a third of a revolution in the direction of rotation
and check the play on cylinder 5. The valves on
cylinder 2 then ?rock?. Check the play for the other
cylinders in firing order.

will be doing them as soon as i get back to Darwin as well as the other problem with the 140 suzi thanks to all that have responded to my boat problems. this resource is invaluable in the bush again thx to all
