Valve adjust on 2000 model BF 15 HELP

I just bought a new left over BF15 honda it says in the manual to adjust the valves at 20 hours (this seems early to me) one dealer told me that he would not touch the motor at 20 hour ! need advice !<br />also where can I get info online on how to adjust the valves and other service . I really want to do all the services myself.

RON 1,<br /><br />They (Honda) do not put that information in the manual just for fun. Follow it.<br /><br />Don't let a dealer that ignores the manual touch your engine.

Wow, Ron! <br /><br />Is this the Dealer who sold you the engine and is responsible for warranty?<br /><br />Contact Honda and report it!<br /><br />Otherwise, ditto what DJ said.<br /><br />Good luck.

Yes the dealer who sold me the engine told me he would not touch the engine valves at 20 hours......now you can see why I want to do my own work.......

Ditto to what the rest have said, first I would call Honda and make sure if you do you own work it will not void the warranty. Next go out and get a manual and follow it, the one I have is very good and takes you step by step to do the work yourself.
