my father recently passed away at age 81 - he acquired a johnson outboard motor 6hp from my cousin many, many years ago. as far as i know it is running fine, the propeller looks to be in good-very good condition (my father rarely if ever used it for the 20+ years he had it and it is kept in the garage). I believe it is a 1973 - the model # is 6R-73S and the serial # is J3734014. My mother wants to sell it as we have no use for it but we have no idea what it is worth. can anyone suggest a reasonable asking price and confirm my research findings that it is a 1973?
